Until We Meet Again London: A Heart Felt Goodbye 🛫🇬🇧
While this isn't my first time visiting London, If there's one thing I learned when it comes to saying goodbye, it's that you can leave London, but London will never leave you ❣️
It feels as if yesterday was the first day arriving in London. In a blink of an eye, it's now time to say goodbye. Such a bittersweet feeling. In ways that I'm excited to return home to see family and friends but also sad to leave London behind. Being in the heart of rich history & culture, Oh! also can't forget the hustle and bustle 🐝 ( it fits me perfectly always being on the go lol)
In breaking record, I can officially say this is the longest time I've spent away from home. A week compared to a month does not compare. After living in London for a month, I've learned so much both from a professional academic aspect and for my own personal development.
To begin with, studying PR/AD (Public Relations & Advertising) was the biggest reason to what led me to studying abroad here in London in the first place. As an Advertising Major I wanted to learn more about getting the global perspective of how the world of advertising careers were presented in London vs the U.S. One of the several difference that I noticed is that there's a lot more Banter in their Advertisements. Unlike the U.S it's a lot more based on exaggeration and honesty. Not to mention the regulations on what's allowed to be advertised is a lot more strict compared to the states. Funfact: Did you know London is not allowed to advertise Pharmaceutical Products.
This is just the surface of things. I'd also like to point out that I learned more about strategic communication. The crucial role in how a message is perceived is in order to inform and persuade but also, most commonly, to call to action from what's being communicated.
Most importantly going to visit Advertising and PR Firms. Getting a deeper dive into how the two worlds collide/ merge together in the real world.
One of my favorite projects from my time studying Strategic communication in PR and AD was creating a company campaign with no international presence to be brought into the UK. Being able to carry through the idea my team and I had before and then arriving in London put all the pieces together in creating a campaign that tailors to the Brits.
When it comes to personal growth, I believe that taking the opportunity to travel across the country without knowing anyone from the program to be a massive leap out of my comfort zone. I met so many cool people on this trip. From everyone being a little reserved to reaching out with open arms, we all had such a blast going out on late nights to party.
Side note: If there's one thing Scottland can improve on it's their Nightlife.
In this photo down below, it worked out for the best tho, as if we had it reserved for our class program only. I'm going to miss all the fun times and late-night outs out with the group.
Things I'm going to miss:
Taking the Picadilly Line
Hearing the "See it. Say it. Sorted" on the tube.
The British Accents!!
The amazing tea!
Most Memorable Experiences from my Study Abroad Experience
Traveling to Edinburgh, Scottland
Going to Wimbledon 🎾
Brighton Beach Day Trip 🌊
Canterbury Day Trip 🌷
I'm so grateful to have had this opportunity to visit London for the second time and be able to study abroad, which interests me from a global perspective. Being able to immerse myself into the culture of what it's like to be a Brit has truly been a blast. While I don't have the accent quite down, I think it's sticking to me a little bit haha

One last thing, Just for fun... Here are some of the British Words I learned compared to the U.S ✨
Rubbish = Trash
The Loo = The bathroom
You alright? = Just means they're saying hello
Bloke = Dude
Chuffed = Happy & Pleased
If you made it to the end, Thank you for taking the time to read my blog. This isn't the end of me writing blogs. In fact, my wish is to continue sharing my experiences of London, as I have lots to share with you all and continue writing some of my favorite spots to check out in SoCal. Stay Tuned !! 🌞 🇺🇸
